ROBIN J NOYES-MGUIRE is a one-person teaching practice in Monroe, Washington. I teach writing and study — the parts of schoolwork that are usually called “ability” and are almost always method.
What I teach
Three courses and three one-to-one sessions. The courses cover essay writing (how an argument is built, paragraph by paragraph), study skills (notes worth keeping, review that fits a real week) and exam preparation (six weeks of practice in the right order). The sessions take your own draft, your own timetable or your own past paper and work on it with you.
How I teach it
Slowly, and in order. Most writing advice is a list of features — a hook, three points, a conclusion — and students who follow it produce essays that read like forms. I would rather you understood what a paragraph is doing, because then the next essay is yours to write. The same goes for study: I teach a week you can actually keep, not a timetable nobody follows after Tuesday.
Where the teaching happens
Courses are self-paced and online, so they happen wherever you are. Sessions run over video, Monday to Friday, Pacific Time, and are recorded for you. I keep a small number of students at a time, which is why the catalogue is six items and not sixty. Details on access and booking are in the Delivery and Access Policy.

- No writing for you. I teach the writing. Work I produce stays as a model, never as your submission — see Terms of Service.
